ABOUT US

Queen's Feminist Collective is a club at Queen's University in Kingston, ON focused on advocating for the empowerment of women by fundraising for organizations in need and raising awareness for current and historical issues pertaining to women.

As the incoming co-presidents we highly value EDII, accessibility, and intersectionality. As such, from here on out, we have decided to restructure and re-centre My Body My Business – beginning with a name change. We are now Queen’s Feminist Collective and will work towards emphasizing feminist topics that are relevant to a broader audience. We want to acknowledge that in the past, My Body My Business has in many ways focused on the issues pertaining to white women.

Moving forward, we plan to amplify voices of marginalized communities and to give a platform to those who may not otherwise have a voice. We will implement these values of EDII into all aspects of the newly renamed Queen’s Feminist Collective, including our hiring, events, initiatives, and the organizations we support. Previously, My Body My Business has donated 100% of their proceeds to the Ban Righ Centre; however, we have reevaluated where our donation will be best suited during these times and have decided to donate to the Kingston Interval House. You can read more about their mission on our “Fundraising” page. The support from the Queen’s community will be an essential part of the success of QFC and we encourage you to apply for executive positions, or engage with the club in any capacity. We are excited to see all of this come to fruition within these next few months and do our part in promoting a more inclusive environment at Queen’s.
